Slideshow for conversation practice

I use slide shows of photos for conversation activities. You can choose one where you advance the photos manually, or one where you can control the speed of the photos.
Even set to slow, this Yahoo slide show moves fairly quickly. I had my students, work in pairs, each make one comment about the picture. I also use slide shows with tasks that focus on a specific grammar point.

Una imágen vale más que mil palabras

Photographs are one of the best ways to provide a context for language tasks in the classroom. Five Card Flickr lets you select five photos to create a "photo story." You can add text, and the story can be saved and accessed again through a permalink. Right now, my students are simply recording descriptions of five photographs for the oral component of an exam, but there are many possibilities for activities. Just a note, Five Card Flickr only works with Mozilla Firefox.

Chile para niños, y para adultos también

CHILE PARA NIÑOS has information and activities on Chilean history, geography, literature and culture. The pages on the Chilean family are particularly appropriate for Spanish language learners. The activities include a game with a family tree, riddles (click on literatura, adivinanzas, and then adivinanzas de lógica) and photos of Chilean families through history with simple questions.
